The original Prescott family came to this country in the 1600's. Decendants Col. Benjamin Prescott and his brother, Oliver, were among the earliest settlers in Jaffrey. Benjamin's accomplishments were many. He was a soldier in the Revolution, a militia colonel, selectman, constable, deacon and tavern owner in his time. The building which is now the Inn was constructed in 1853 by Benjamin and Oliver, and each guest room or suite in the Inn is named for a member of their family and furnished to provide a taste of life as it was in times past. Come join us for a tour in words and pictures.
All guests have private bathrooms and are provided with antiques and comfy beds that give the rooms their distinct character. For guests who truly want to escape into their own world, reserve one of our first-rate suites of rooms, the largest of which boasts cozy sleeping alcoves for as many as eight people and a panoramic view of the beautiful farm behind the Inn. On the first floor, an additional suite is available with two rooms connected to a private sitting room and seperate entrance. Together with its quiet charm and country ambience, the Inn's inviting livingroom offers guests the opportunity to gather and relax.
